    Drs. John and Virginia Cross are retired research scientists with extensive experience in the chemical industry.  John received his Bachelor’s Degree and Ph.D. in Chemistry from MIT.  Virginia received her Bachelor’s Degree from Oregon State University and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from MIT.  They also hold MBAs from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.  Their three sons all attended school in Clear Lake City at Armand Bayou Elementary, Space Center Intermediate and Clear Lake High School.

    Throughout their lives John and Virginia have been working with youth.  An Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver Award recipient, John has been an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America.  He has taught Radio and Chemistry merit badges in many venues, including the National Jamboree, where he developed the course material for an amateur radio licensing program.  Virginia has been a Cub Scout Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader, Tiger Cub Coach and Troop Committee Chairman. 

    John and Virginia have tutored students on all levels.  They have found that our youth of today are very eager to learn and highly capable.  Most are able to grasp even the most difficult concepts if they are given the opportunity to learn from a person who can explain these concepts in understandable terms.  Drs. Cross provides expertise, motivation and study skills to help students at all levels increase their understanding and grasp of math and science and improve their problem solving skills.
